REALTOR® Party Convention & Trade Expo Brings New Name and More Impact in 2014

RPCTE

The NAR’s  Midyear Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo has a new name to better reflect the true scope and nature of the event and what it means to the real estate industry. The event is now called the REALTOR® Party Convention & Trade Expo, and the meeting goes beyond just important legislative activities.

The REALTOR® Party Convention & Trade Expo is the event where REALTORS® and association leaders come together to speak in unison on issues that pertain to real estate. And it’s an opportunity for all members to respond to and initiate change at all levels of government – federal, state and local. This event will be held May 12-17, 2014 in Washington, DC, with the trade expo on May 14-15. More than 8,000 REALTORS® and REALTOR® Association staff are expected to attend.

The trade expo, with 100 exhibitors, is a key relationship-building event. Attendees will learn about the latest lead generation systems, Internet prospecting solutions, MLS providers, virtual tour technologies, financial services and more. REALTORS® will walk away with a wealth of ideas and opportunities to gain an edge in today’s market.

What is the REALTOR® Party?
The REALTOR® Party represents an energized movement of real estate professionals working to protect and promote the dream of homeownership and property investment. From city hall to the state house to the U.S. Capitol, the REALTOR® Party speaks with one voice to advance candidates and public policies that uphold private property rights. Through the NAR members’ advocacy, the REALTOR® Party builds strong communities, a vibrant business environment and a better America.

Why Change the Event Name?
One of the most significant developments of the event name change is communicating the REALTOR® message to those who attend and work with the NAR’s REALTOR® Party officials. The name change explains exactly what the overall purpose of the event is and the initiatives the REALTOR® Party seeks to advance.

“Today [this event] is one of the most prominent gatherings of real estate professionals, NAR members and association leaders in our nation’s capital,” 2014 NAR President Steve Brown said in a video about the new event name.  The new REALTOR® Party brand “describes the opportunities available for all of our members to learn how to initiate change not only at the federal level, but also at the state and local levels of government as well.”
